Finnish Flashback

I’ve been having some serious Scandinavian fever lately. After all, Finland was my first trip outside of the US (and Canada!). Fin was my first taste of real travel and my first sense of home away from home that travel gives me. I feel nostalgic for my study abroad experience often, and Finland was the very first leg of the architectural tour!

Finland is the land of the midnight sun (if you’re also obsessed with Led Zeppelin) and Alvar Aalto’s architectural masterpieces, which was what prompted my class’s tour of the country. We toured many cities in the south of Finland, beginning in Helsinki and working our way up to Jyväskylä via Turku and Pori. I was blown away by the scenery. It’s grassy, green, and rocky. The people were the friendliest I’ve ever met. I can’t believe it’s been four years since I toured the stunning country of Finland. I need to go back ASAP!
